Saline County Farm Bureau offers at least one, maybe more depending on funds available, scholarships to seniors enrolled in any of the Saline County high schools. Application forms may be obtained at the Saline County Farm Bureau office (328 North Ohio), through the high school counselor, or a link is provided at the end of the paragraph. Preference is given to the student seeking a degree in agriculture, or an agricultural related field. Applications must be sent to Saline County Farm Bureau by April 3, 2012. Scholarship Form
Jason Hahn
Receiving the Saline County Farm Bureau/Steve Roe Scholarship is Jason Hahn. Jason is the son of Randy and Lori Hahn of Gypsum, Kansas, and is a graduating senior from Southeast of Saline High School. Jason says, "I am attending Kansas State University this fall to start working towards my goal, which is to be a successful farmer and rancher. I plan on graduating in the spring of 2015 with a degree in Animal Science and Production. Having this degree will help me successfully operate and manage our family feed lot and farm."
Jordan Pieschl
Jordan Pieschl is the daughter of Tony and Pat Pieschl of Brookville, Kansas. She will be graduating from Ell-Saline High School and plans to attend Kansas State University in the fall. Jordan says "My goal is to continue being active in FFA, while also discovering new activities and organizations in college offered through the College of Agriculture." She wants to complete a degree in Animal Sciences and Industry with a Pre-Veterinary option.
John Paul Schneider
John Paul Schneider is the son of Paul Schneider of Salina. John Paul will be graduating from Ell- Saline High School. He says, "I plan to attend Hutchinson Community College to study Farm and Ranch Management to learn more on the goals that our family farm can exceed at. Then I plan to move back to Salina and work hard on the family farm."
Ashley Pihl
Saline County Farm Bureau Association awards a scholarship to a student from a Saline County Farm Bureau member and the student is not pursuing a career in agriculture. This year's scholarship goes to Ashley Pihl. Ashley is the daughter of Mike and Teresa Pihl of Falun, Kansas and is graduating from Smoky Valley High School. She plans to attend Kansas State in the fall pursuing a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. She writes that her goal is to become an event/wedding planner and eventually start her own business.
